Additional notes:
Johann Henrich Waldrop married Anna Margaretha Waldeck (her father was Georg Friedrich Waldeck) on 08.11.1763 in Immenhausen, Hessen, Germany (DE).
Their son Johannes Waldrop / Waldeck was born in Immenhausen, Hessen, Germany (DE) on 16 March 1764 and moved to South Africa (ZA).
It is assumed he must have taken on the name of Waldeck, which is an older variation of Waldrop.

On requesting more information to the baptism from the archival office in Hofgeismar regarding the name I received the following reply:-

Sehr geehrte Frau Ferreira,
WALDECK, Georg Friedrich eheliche Tochter,
Hermann Rudolph
It is not certain when Johannes Waldeck arrived at the Cape. In „Hessische Familienbund Band 4“ it is noted that he was a soldier and moved to the Cape, South Africa.
