Cornelis Gerritsz [ van Nieuwkerk/ Nieuwkercken), moontlik afkomstig van Nijkerk in Gelderland, Nederland. Burger in Drakenstein x Kaapstad 1.4.1691 Maria VAN DER WESTHUIZEN = 6.10.1675, sy hertrou 22.3.1711 met Samuel Walter v. Lubeck.

He arrived from Holland in 1671. In 1706 he took part in the revolt against Simon van der Stel with 8 other burghers. They were Willem van Zyl, Francois du Toit, Guillaume du Toit, Hercules du Pré, Martin van Staden, Jacobus van Brakel, Jan and Nicolaas Elberts.
They were summoned to appear before the Court of Justice, charged with revolt. As they did not appear at the hearing set for 9 Aug. 1706, they were, in their absence, each fined Rx. 200 and banished to Mauritius for 5 years. They were also declared unfit to hold any public office. They were all pardoned on 25 Oct. 1706.

He had 6 children, viz.-
