OELOFSE Andries
Andries OELOFSE, also spelt OELSEN from Noorway. He arrived at the Cape in 1668. According to SAG vol VII, he got married at Cape Town 14 April 1690 to Sara VAN GYSELEN (Sara van de Kaap), daughter of Leendert Jansz van Gyselen (van Den Haag) and Maria Willemsdogter van de Kaap. Boeseken refers to, "Sara from the Cape, a half-caste female belonging to the Company, promised that upon her death (and after her marriage to Andries Oelsen), she would leave half her possessions to the Company in return for the education she had received as child."
